The Magnat MR 780 elegantly combines audiophile hi-fi sound and ample power reserves: the preamplifier uses high-quality, carefully selected and elaborately burned-in ECC-81 tubes, which ensure the popular, warm sound. The power amplifier relies on a low-stray-field toroidal transformer and delivers an impressive 100 watts of sine wave power per channel at 4 ohms. Added to this is an overwhelming variety of connections for analog and digital sources, including Bluetooth® aptX™. If necessary, a high-quality Wolfson D/A converter handles signal conversion at up to 192 kHz and 24 bits. A phono preamplifier for MM systems, an integrated DAB/DAB+ tuner, an FM receiver, and many other details make the MR 780 one of the best stereo receivers in its price range. This high standard is evident at first glance: the full metal housing with a solid brushed aluminum front panel shows that this device is at home in the high-end sector.
